TALLINN — In a surprising move, a popular restaurant in Tallinn has decided to change its closing sign from ‘Closed’ to ‘Just Not Worth It’. Owner Juri Toomas explains, “We’ve come to realize that the rising costs are making our prices look more like a nightmare than a menu.”
The establishment, known for its mysterious mushroom soup, apparently got tired of customers asking if they could ‘just take a look inside’ as if it were a museum exhibit. As one frequent patron, Kadri, noted, “I prefer a solid ‘closed’ over whatever this is. At least I know not to waste my time.”
The new sign has sparked widespread discussions among local foodies who were predominantly confused. “It’s like when you go into a sauna and find out it’s not as hot as you expected,” commented foodie Peeter. “Sometimes you just need to know when to ditch the towel and move on.”
Public Response Mixed
In response to the change, social media erupted with mixed reactions. Some applauded the honesty, while others were downright offended. “If they aren’t even trying to make it worth my while, I might as well make my own kohv at home,” said Reet, who was last seen sulking at a nearby Selver.
“We’re in a culinary apocalypse, folks. I just want my leib and mushroom soup!”
At press time, Juri announced that soon they might change their menu options from ‘Special of the Day’ to ‘What We Can Afford’. Customers are holding their breath, eager to see how low they can go.
