TALLINN — The much-anticipated Ice Road Racing Championship has been officially cancelled this year, as all the ice roads around Estonia mysteriously transformed into large puddles overnight.

Local ice-racing enthusiast, Juri Oja, expressed his disappointment while sipping on a lukewarm kohv. “I was ready to drift my way into glory on the frozen lakes. Now, it’s just a sad line of rubber ducks floating on a very warm puddle,” he lamented.

Experts claim this unexpected ice melt is directly tied to global warming and caused by intense sauna sessions across the country. “Estonians love their saunas, but it seems everyone cranked the heat too high last winter,” explained climate scientist Kadri Leib. “Now, we may need to look into rubber boat races instead. Who doesn’t love a race on a single rubber duck?"

"I never thought I would say this, but we might need to switch to a new national sport—puddle jumping.”

While organizers are searching for new locations, other competitors are reportedly gearing up for an alternative event dubbed the ‘Puddle Snorkel Challenge,’ which promises to be just as slippery.

At press time, locals were attempting to revive winter by throwing chunks of ice into the Baltic Sea.
