TALLINN — In a baffling turn of events, local resident Mart Pärn discovered he had been completely banned—with a 403 Forbidden error message—from all Facebook groups on Wednesday. He thought this was just a weird sauna glitch.
”I just wanted to post a photo of my leib with the caption ‘Best bread in Estonia!” said Mart, shaking his head in disbelief. “But instead, I got this strange error. I mean, I knew I was a little direct, but 403? That’s like being sent to the gulag of social media!”
Mart, who is known for his candid comments about wine choices and public transport delays, has apparently offended the delicate sensibilities of the Facebook algorithm. “I just said that 5 pm is the new 6 pm, which is an honest opinion about winter in Estonia, right?” he added.
Algorithmic Penalization
Experts suggest that Mart’s ban may be related to his recent post describing incorrect tram times as a conspiracy by local transport officials. “When you mix kombucha with hot sauna talk, the result can be unpredictable,” commented Marit Laas, a social media analyst.
“Mart might have triggered some digital existential crisis somewhere in the vastness of the Internet,”
Many suspect that his posting habits will be closely monitored by his friends, who now have to deal with the forbidden man’s absence online. “At least he can’t comment on my salad choices anymore,” said Peeter, one of Mart’s closest friends. “But, I mean, he really did make good points about the tomatoes. They are overpriced at Rimi.”
As for Mart, he is gearing up for a quiet life without the constant notifications. “Maybe I’ll learn to appreciate the real world instead of scrolling through endless posts about useless memes and cats,” he mused. Meanwhile, he is planning a group sauna session to come to terms with his newfound solitude.
At press time, Mart’s appeal for forgiveness to Facebook was still marked as ‘under review,’ which has become its own form of punishment.
