TALLINN — In a bold initiative aimed at enhancing late-night travel options, Tallinn city officials announced they will extend public transport operating hours from midnight to 2 AM. However, the decision coincides with tram schedules that seem to exist primarily in a parallel universe.
Kadri, a frequent tram user, expressed mixed feelings. “It’s great we have late-night services, but I was hoping to catch a tram at 12:05. Instead, I got a bus that finally showed up at 2:12. Should I bring a sleeping bag next time?” she pondered.
”Stretching our hours is key, but if we could just find a way to stretch the trams themselves into showing up on time, that would be ideal!”
According to reports, city officials are optimistic that this extended service will improve accessibility for both night owl expats and our more adventurous locals looking for a post-sauna joyride.
However, when asked for a timetable, officials only offered a lengthy shrug, followed by an assertion that “just take a ride and enjoy the mystery.”
At press time, the well-timed irony of the new policy appeared to be riding away on the last tram of the evening, leaving everyone behind to enjoy the Estonian night in bewilderment.
