TALLINN — Local father Peeter Tamm has taken parenting to new heights by introducing his son, three-year-old Tiit, to the thrilling world of e-scooter riding. What started as a quest for safety awareness has turned into a dangerous obstacle course.
‘I thought it would be great bonding time,’ Peeter stated while nursing a bruised knee. ‘But he took off like he was auditioning for a stunt show. I just wanted him to learn how to stop safely!’ Peeter’s crash course in e-scooter safety quickly escalated into a high-speed chase across Lõunakeskus parking lot.
Teens and elderly onlookers are reportedly impressed, shouting “Kalevipoeg!” as they witnessed little Tiit sail over speed bumps like a seasoned rider. One amused grandmother commented, ‘I haven’t seen such skill since my first train to Tartu.’ Tiit’s safety helmet is the only indication that this is, in fact, supposed to be a safety lesson.
‘We’re definitely going to need more safety signs around Tallinn,’ Peeter added, as he adjusted Tiit’s helmet after a near miss with a parked car.
In light of this incident, authorities are considering rolling out a mandatory e-scooter training program for parents. They hope this will prevent future children from turning into mini Evel Knievels before they hit kindergarten.
At press time, Peeter was trying to convince Tiit to just use skateboards instead, as they come with “a solid grip and are a lot easier on the parents.”
