TALLINN — A new Estonian startup, SaunaBook, has launched an innovative app that allows users to book sauna time in real-time. This milestone in tech is said to improve the quality of life for sauna lovers everywhere, or at least those who can’t read a wall clock.
The app connects you to local saunas, showing availability in real-time. “It’s designed to eliminate the chaos of waiting,” explained Aivo, the CEO and local sauna enthusiast. “Now you can reserve your spot for sweating and gossiping with your friends without the hassle of face-to-face interaction.”
However, not everyone is thrilled. Traditional sauna-goer Mart commented, “What’s the fun in that? The thrill of fighting over the last spot is part of the sauna experience!” Others express woes about the potential for social media posting leading to sauna envy.
In response, the startup has plans for a future feature: SaunaStories, where users can share their sauna experiences via video while wearing towels and expressing deep existential thoughts, such as their opinions on rye bread.
At press time, rumors of an ‘e-Sauna’ were under discussion, promising to take the relaxation experience into the digital realm.
