TALLINN — Estonian startups have officially declared November 1st a national day of hibernation following a groundbreaking decision to take a 2-hour coffee break. The holiday is meant to support the innovative minds thriving under stress.
”We realized that coffee breaks were not enough to sustain our genius, so we decided on full hibernation instead,” explained Mart, an IT entrepreneur. “It’s vital for our creativity to sleep through every possible moment of productivity. After all, we have to innovate our innovations, right?”
The move has been met with mixed responses from both employees and investors. “Hibernation seems like a sham,” complained one disgruntled investor, “but it is undeniably better than endless meetings about synergies.”
Coffee shops around the country reported a massive spike in sales, as entrepreneurs stock up on premium beans while silently contemplating their two-hour slumbers.
”We just want to dream big, literally!”
As of now, the Prime Minister is considering whether to extend hibernation into a full month, pending further coffee consumption surveys. At press time, discussions about adding a ‘buffer zone’ for naps into the workday are underway.
