TALLINN — In an unprecedented move, the Estonian government has declared the first recess in 27 years a national holiday after children, in a shocking turn of events, actually ventured outdoors during winter.

The movement started when a group of 200 children in Tallinn discovered the concept of ‘fresh air.’ They traded their phones for snowballs and hot chocolate, leaving parents confused and slightly terrified about the sudden disappearance of TikTok.

”I thought they were all just glued to the TV! I didn’t know they could jump in snow,” said local mom, Kadri. “We have no idea what to do with them!”

Officials reported that the said ‘outdoor adventure’ involved building snowmen, ice-skating on a frozen pond, and occasionally losing a mitten. Minister of Fun, Liisa, praised the kids, stating, “If they can get off their screens for just one day, we can finally get them to join singing festivals!”

As a reward, the Minister promised a free day without homework for the kids. However, she added that unlimited screen time would kick back in the next day, as normality must be restored.

At press time, negotiations were underway to declare an additional holiday for parents who might need a break from finding their children’s shoes in the snow.
