TALLINN — In a groundbreaking move, the Estonian government has launched an innovative e-Sauna service aimed at reducing the amount of paper forms citizens need to fill out. The program allows residents to submit sauna reservations and local government requests all from the comfort of their heated cabins.
”It’s simple: we know that Estonians love their saunas more than filling out any boring paper forms. So why not combine the two?” said Mart, Minister of Digital Innovation. “Just think, working on your sauna application while sitting in the sauna – what’s not to love?”
Participants can use their e-Identity to log into a special portal, where they can access services like sauna heat control, towel allocation, and even filing a complaint about those pesky late tram arrivals. It’s envisioned as a one-stop solution for balancing both relaxation and paperwork, because everyone deserves to sweat while they work.
”I once had to fill out a form after exiting the sauna, and it was awful. This will change my life,” said Kadri, an enthusiastic user.
However, some skeptics warn that too much time spent in the sauna can lead to…a shortage of leib. The government reassures the public that they are working on a complimentary e-Bread program to ensure that citizens will still receive their daily dose of black bread.
As part of the launch, we expect an influx of people registering for last-minute saunas, causing potential traffic jams on the roads leading to every peat-filled bathhouse across the nation.
At press time, the e-Sauna portal had accidentally sent out notices for 3,000 sauna spots to a group of tourists from Tokyo, causing a sauna etiquette crisis. But hey, who doesn’t love a good sauna party?
